O'Toole
Wells Fargo Advisors hired Jane O’Toole as a financial advisor. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, O’Toole was employed as the chief council for the Missouri State Treasurer, the legal aide fiscal officer for the Missouri Supreme Court and a financial advisor in St. Louis and Jefferson City.

Trimble
Williams-Keepers LLC hired Jessica L. Trimble as a project coordinator and receptionist in its Columbia office. Trimble earned a bachelor’s degree in entrepreneurship and business management from Stephens College and is pursuing a master’s degree in business administration.
Kimberly Pfeiffer was hired as Columbia College’s alumni relations coordinator. Pfeiffer has six years experience in higher education, most recently as assistant director of alumni services at A.T. Still University in Kirksville. Andrea Hunting was hired by Columbia College’s Campus Life as coordinator for communictions and psychology.

White
Analytical Bio-Chemistry Laboratories hired Frank White as the new director of DMPK (Pharmacokinetics) and Synthesis. White directs the ongoing operations for the groups and leads their efforts in research and development for the pharmaceutical, biotech and animal health industries. White has 22 years of experience in the industry. Prior to joining ABC Laboratories, he worked for Eli Lilly and Co. and Dow AgroSciences.

Jessing
ABC Labs also hired Kevin Jessing as director of bioanalytical services. Jessing previously worked in various executive positions at GEL Analytics, Lifetree Bioanalytical, Resonance Laboratories and Lifetree Clinical Research.
Promotions
Columbia College promoted Patricia Houston to assistant director of alumni relations. Prior to joining Columbia College, Houston worked at the Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development, an Australian government initiative that places young volunteers in developing countries.

Phillips
Columbia College’s Adult Higher Education Department announced the promotions of Misty Phillips to director of special projects and

Michele Smolik to director of instructional technology. Phillips previously served as special projects coordinator, and Smolik was assistant director of instructional technology.

Columbia College’s Campus Life announced the promotions of Julie Starkey to associate dean for Campus Life and

Appointments
The Columbia City Council made the following appointments to city and county boards and commissions: John Conway, Water and Light Advisory Board; Erin Daugherty and Lowell Patterson, Storm Water Advisory Commission; Rosie Gerding, Columbia Library District Board; Emily Poore, Public Communications Resource Advisory Committee; Gregory Eiffert and Mike Teel, Railroad Advisory Board; Karl Skala, Comprehensive Plan Task Force; Bob Wagner, Boone Hospital board of trustees.
The Alzheimer’s Association Mid-Missouri Chapter recently appointed new board members for the fiscal year 2011 board of directors. They are: David Oliver, president; Lili Vianello, vice president; Bill Grace, secretary; Jack Smith, treasurer. New appointees included Katie Sinquefield, Reginald ”Reg” Turnbull and Dr. Kyle Moylan. The association also announced the promotion of Ashley Burden to public policy director.
Awards
Nikki Krawitz, vice president of finance and administration for the University of Missouri System, received the Distinguished Business Officer Award from the National Association of College and University Business Officers. Krawitz is responsible for the university system’s $2.5 billion budget and its treasury, accounting, procurement, facilities planning and design, real estate, internal audit, risk and insurance management and institutional research functions.
Columbia Access Television received the Overall Excellence in Public Access Award during the Alliance for Community Media’s annual international conference and exhibition. Program Director Ryan Walker also received the About Access Award, given to the creator of the clip that best informs the viewer about an access center or access channel.
Certifications

Coil
David R. Coil,
project manager at Coil Construction, has been granted the designation of LEED Green Associate by the Green Building Certification Institute. Coil’s certification, which required completion of an education program on green building principles, indicates basic knowledge of green design, construction and operations.
Resignations
Kathy Frerking, manager of Columbia Regional Airport since March 2006, announced that she will step down from her position. Frerking’s last day is Aug. 13, after which she will begin work as the director of finance for the Columbia Chamber of Commerce
