COLUMBIA, Mo.–The Columbia Business Times, a monthly business publication based in Columbia, Mo., has named its 2014 Class of 20 Under 40, presented by Stephens College. Each year, 20 local business professionals under the age of 40 are selected for their business acumen, innovation and involvement in Columbia’s business community.

“We live in a global society with change and innovation all around, and only through a willingness to try to think and be different can we truly evolve,” said Susan Bartel, dean of the School of Organizational Leadership and Strategic Communication at Stephens College. “This [is a group of] effective multitaskers with a focus on getting the job done more than counting hours.”

This year also marked a record-breaking number of nominations, ultimately selecting the final 20 out of nearly 100 applicants.

“It was a difficult choice, because Columbia has so many wonderful young professionals,” said Sarah Redohl, managing editor of the Columbia Business Times. “We feel that these 20 truly value personal and professional growth, but also care about the growth of Columbia and the vibrancy of its business community.”
